Hi Normand:
Thanks for the good work keeping up the Torrington Blog..

For every one's interest, I drove by Torrington campus the other day and it appears that there are now at least two enterprises located in the Excelsior complex.. There is an "Optiwind" sign on the Learning Center building and there were about 10 cars in the parking lot there.. An outfit called "5 Star Supply" looks to be in residence upstairs in the fitness center building.. Several cars noted in the adjacent parking lot.. I have no idea what either of these companies do.. There are also signs on the Excelsior and Test Lab buildings indicating that an environmental cleanup is in process.. No signs of any activity other than a the watchman's car at the Standard complex..

"Optiwind" is developing smaller, more efficient wind turbines. An attempt to install one at Woodridge Lake for the sewer plant was voted down. Ted Chadwick, son of the former mayor is one of the principals.
